Going from strength to strength

“We have placed more focus on our Forum Platform, developed more engagement with our members and have also been busy creating a deluge of helpful information which is easily accessed via smart phone, tablet or PC,” says Shane Henderson, Director of HAPAI.

“Encouraging members to use this platform is building a wealth of knowledge that is proving very popular with our trade members.”

The Association has also been busy working closely with its corporate members.

“We are delighted to announce some of the big industry players that have chosen to join us on our journey – Calor Gas, Vokera (now part of the Riello Group), SystemLink Technologies, McDaid’s Plumbing Supplies, Clark Conlon Insurance, Heating Engineer Supplies, Ashgrove Renewables, Grant Engineering, Slamlocks, Salamander Pumps (MT Agencies), to name just a few. With such quality companies on board, we are now able to commence our next phase of development – introducing product training, instructional videos, product material and manufacturer/supplier back up,” says Shane.

The Association’s Forum Platform now has ‘Verified Representatives’ of each corporate member on hand to answer any queries members might have.

“Corporate members have access to our on-line diary where they can publish training dates, product releases, events, etc.” says Richie Burke, Association Director. “This facility is also repeated on our Facebook platform so our corporates know they are reaching the maximum amount of possible exposure.”

The more companies that work closely with HAPAI, the more engagement will be achieved with all aspects of the industry, says Criostoir McCormack, HAPAI Secretary.

“We strive to be inclusive of everybody within the industry as this is the only way we will see improvement.”

According to Shane, the Association hopes to launch video tutorials shortly.

“This will give people access to learning about products, installation methods, guidance notes, etc. all from the comfort of their own home,” says Shane.

“We are delighted to be nearing this goal so, as they say, watch this space!”

The Association says a growing number of people have been in contact enquiring about plumbing apprenticeship programmes.

“We are delighted to have introduced a matching service, where we introduce potential apprentices to companies looking to take on people. This service is completely free to both parties and we are only too happy to assist in this area,” says Richie.

HAPAI trade membership currently costs just €1 per annum. For more information and to join the Heating & Plumbing Association of Ireland, visit the website www.hapai.ie
