Control, efficiency and style – Pegler Yorkshire’s range of TRVs

The research confirmed that, with the installation of heating controls, energy bills can be cut by up to 40%*. A huge saving, and one in which installers can impart, when advising home-owners on how to reduce their energy consumption.

Sindar Singh, Climate Control Market Manager for Pegler Yorkshire, commented, “Our own research showed that home-owners, if prompted to purchase radiator valves, have in the past opted for the more aesthetically pleasing manual valves, which, whilst they may look the part do not offer any energy saving benefits.

“We have looked at the most popular designer radiators out there and developed a range of TRVs that compliment styles and materials whilst providing all the benefits found with thermostatic radiator valves.”

The range of three Décor valves manufactured under the renowned Terrier brand are great designs with a twist, and have been created to incorporate radiators including white, anthracite and chrome. They are sympathetic to the needs of both consumer and radiator style and provide a compact design incorporating all the attributes found by regular Terrier TRVs.

As one of the most recognisable TRV brands on the market, the Terrier is very user friendly, with clear settings for efficiency and boasts an operational temperature range of 7°C to 28°C. A positive shut off has been incorporated to enable removal of radiators for decoration or maintenance – without the need for removing the thermostatic head and replacing with a manual cap.

The Terrier Décor range of TRVs also carries Kitemark approval from the EN215 Standard for quality and performance and an ‘A rating’ from the TELL scheme provides a further European seal of approval.

Sindar concluded, “We believe it is important for installers to have knowledge and understanding of how to save energy and integrate devices, products and systems with whatever central heating system they are installing. It is essential for the future of energy

“In support of this, BEAMA has launched the ‘Control Your Home’ campaign that encourages the heating industry to work together to help consumers reduce their heating bills through better control of their heating. The campaign offers information that will support installers when advising their customers to fit controls, whether they be practical or décor solutions.”

Pegler Yorkshire has also recently launched a new Terrier heating solutions brochure which gives installers an overview of its full range, including manual, thermostatic, programmable and decorative valves. There is also a section on BEAMA’s research that shows tangible results on the use of TRVs over manual valves, plus a section on how using controls can make a difference.
