Singing AJ Plumbing Supplies’ praises

The two companies perfectly complemented each other on this project to deliver a new energy efficient heating system.

John Robinson, Comfort Heat NI (formerly JR Plumbing & Heating), explained, “At Comfort Heat NI, we are always on the lookout for new and innovative products to heat homes and businesses.

“When we received the enquiry for this project, one of the briefs was to design a system that would be easy to control. Unlike most homes, a church’s heating timetable can vary greatly from day to day and sometimes at short notice; so we needed a controls package that could deal with this.

“Heatmiser Neo system was the ideal solution, with the heating and hot water for the church now being controlled remotely via the Neo App. The installation was also simple. We were able to reuse some of the existing cables from the old controls and take everything back to Heatmiser’s wiring centre in the plant room.”

Barry McGreevy, Area Sales Manager for AJ Plumbing Supplies, added, “Heatmiser’s Neo system is one of the best new products I have seen come into the industry. The thermostats are all WiFi enabled; you connect the Neo Hub to your broadband router, download the Neo App and you can control all of your heating zones anywhere you have a 3G or WiFi signal. Additional users can easily be added and all of the stats are still manually programmable if required.

“Unlike most of other WiFi enabled heating controls we currently see on offer, the Neo allows you to control up to 32 zones and there are no annual subscription fees.” Comfort Heat NI completed overhauled the plant room at Monkstown Baptist Church, fitting a new Worcester Bosch GB162 gas boiler, low loss header, high efficiency pump-sets and motorised valves for each of the heating zones.

“The installation also included pipework through the Rifeng range. John added, “For the pipework, we installed AJ’s range of Rifeng MLCP pipe. The speed of installation is a major advantage – the crimp fittings are so easy to work with compared with traditional screwed iron pipe.

“AJ’s are a new supplier to Comfort Heat NI. I was impressed both by the service we received and their technical knowledge. Having used other brands of MLCP in the past, Rifeng’s pipe and fitting stands up beside any of them. It’s what we will be using on our jobs going forward.”

Barry concluded, “AJ Plumbing Supplies have been Rifeng’s sole distributor in Northern Ireland for eight years now and, in that time, we have seen the demand for MLCP grow steadily. The pipe is Pex-Al-Pex, with a maximum operating temperature of 95°C and a maximum operating pressure of 10bar. The fittings (U pattern) are all certified up to 16bar. The system is WRAS approved, so it can be used for hot and cold supplies as well as LTHW pipework. We stock the pipe both in coils and straight lengths from 16mm up to 50mm along with a comprehensive range of fittings.”
