The event will take place at Titanic Belfast on Thursday 31st March, 2016, and Vayu will sponsor new category, ‘Best Energy Saving Large Organisation’ at this year’s awards luncheon. This addition of this innovative accolade emphasises the development of renewable energy’s importance for NI businesses, organisations, and community groups.

“We are delighted to have launched in Northern Ireland and to sponsor the Action Renewables Awards for the second year running, helping to highlight the wide range of expertise and innovation that exists across Northern Ireland’s renewables industry” said Mary Rossiter, Vayu Energy.  “The impressive calibre of last year’s entries and the overwhelmingly positive response to the awards clearly demonstrates the importance of renewables to local businesses. As a supplier of 100% green electricity, this is something we’re seeing on the ground first hand, which is very encouraging.”

These excellence awards are recognised as the flagship awards of the renewables sector in Northern Ireland. Ciaran McConville, Business Development and Marketing Assistant, Action Renewables, thanked Vayu for their support in crediting the sustainable energy efforts of large local organisations – “Vayu Energy is one of Ireland’s leaders in Renewables so we are thrilled to have them involved in the event again with the sponsoring of this new category and we bid welcome to their recent move into the NI energy.”

The awards initiative has grown from strength to strength each year with a consistent aim of showcasing and celebrating the renewable energy sector. Ciaran McConville went on to describe what we can expect at this year’s event: “We’re delighted to welcome back event host Jamie Delargy and our esteemed panel of judges for 2016. The high calibre of industry figures who attend the annual event teamed with the stunning modern venue of Titanic Belfast will help to make this year’s event one to remember.”

The annual event also provides a fantastic opportunity for organisations within the renewables sector to network and discuss key issues facing the industry. Mary Rossiter, Vayu, has welcomed the event’s relational opportunities: “As a newcomer to the industry we are really looking forward to meeting our industry peers and making valuable local business connections with delegates.”
