Wicklow County Council has recently started specifying that landlords on its Rental Accommodation Scheme (and also in relation to Housing Standards inspections of private rented accommodation) should supply the Council with CD80/CD81 and CD12 control documents following inspection by an OFTEC technician who has the correct qualifications.
OFTEC has welcomed the news, which will see an increase in work for registered technicians in the Wicklow area. “We plan to encourage other councils throughout Ireland to adopt a similar position,” said David Blevings. “We would encourage anyone with a solid fuel qualification to register with us to enable OFTEC to promote the availability of technicians in various council areas.”
