Brooks invests in heating and plumbing growth plan

Brooks Timber and Building Supplies Ltd has embarked on a major investment programme to grow their heating and plumbing division.

An institution in the Irish construction industry, Brooks has built an enviable reputation for product quality and expert customer service, and is proud to have helped build Ireland for over 200 years. That’s a mighty heritage to be proud of. However, Brooks’ success lies in their forward-thinking approach; they are never content to rest on their laurels.

Brooks has grown its operation by developing its product offering in response to its customers’ needs. And it has identified a need in the heating plumbing and renewable industry that it’s ready to fill.

With EU regulations requiring Ireland’s new builds and major renovations to comply with Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) rules, the demand for more energy- efficient plumbing and heating solutions is on the rise.

“We recognise there is a niche in the market that we can easily bolt on to our current business and develop that within the company,” said John Scarry, Sales Manager.

All seven branches (Sligo, Galway, Cork, Bluebell, Sandyford, Glasnevin and Tullamore) have existing heating and plumbing divisions, and Brooks has ambitious plans!

“Based on the number of branch locations and their positions throughout the country, our aim is to become a major player in Ireland’s heating and plumbing industry in the next couple of years.

“We predominately deal with the building trade, but we have developed a very strong plumbing presence in all of our branches. We will grow and add to that presence in all our branches.”

Brooks’ heating, plumbing and renewables offering includes energy- efficient oil and gas boilers, renewable energy solutions, sanitary ware and bathrooms. As part of its investment into this division, Brooks is implementing a network-wide trade counter and bathroom refurbishment plan. “Our Galway branch has just completed its brand-new bathroom insert, with Sligo’s currently undergoing refurbishment. Next in line will be our Cork branch followed by the remaining branches.”

Recruitment is another area being invested in. “We are extremely keen to attract new talent into our heating and plumbing division across all seven branches. I invite anyone with experience in the plumbing industry who is keen to be a part of a very busy team in a rapidly expanding department of our well-established company to get in touch.”
