The Ashwood House Nursing Home in Newtownabbey is a purpose-built facility that opened its doors in 1990. With 36-bedrooms and boasting the most modern conveniences, comfortable accommodations, quality dining and extensive gardens, the family-run private care home prides itself on delivering the highest standards of care.
So when the nursing home’s boilers failed, they faced a serious dilemma. Keen to avoid a repeat of investing in boilers that didn’t deliver, the owners of the home wanted a cost effective and reliable solution.
For Michael Crymble at Geoff Castles Boiler Services Ltd the solution was easy and the company turned to C&F Quadrant for help. The solution was in the form of two ACV Prestige 120kw boilers.
“The big challenge we faced was time,” said Michael Crymble. “We needed to keep the heating running so there was zero amount of downtime on the job. But C&F Quadrant ensured a quick turnaround and we were able to keep the heating system operating successfully while we did the switchover.
“We even had to create a new boiler room but, despite all the challenges, it all ran very smoothly. The client is delighted with the new system and said that he now knows that he has paid for quality.”
Michael Clarke, Technical Manager at C&F Quadrant, said the company prides itself on providing reliable solutions.
“Working on projects like these you see just how important a reliable heating system is. That is why we only supply products that meet the highest standards. Our systems are cost-effective over the long-term and will provide high levels of energy efficiency.
“With no guarantees over fuel prices, everyone from the owners of care homes to office blocks are looking more long term and seeing the benefits of installing more energy efficient systems that will cut their bills. We can offer that alongside reliability.”
The ACV Prestige range falls into this category. A high efficiency, wall-mounted gas condensing boiler, the Prestige range comprises four models – 50kW, 75kW, 100kW and 120kW.
The Prestige benefits from having the ACV advanced MCBA electronic control fitted as standard. This control manages all the gas burner and boiler functions, including its safety parameters, flame modulation, as well as monitoring and controlling the various temperatures across the boiler.
This range also incorporates ACV’s unique, self-cleaning stainless steel heat exchanger that provides added durability and, as a result, is more reliable and efficient – which is exactly what staff and residents at Ashwood House Nursing Home were looking for.
