The gas detection range from Flamefast – and available from C&F Quadrant – is one of the most cost effective and versatile units available on the market.

Designed specifically for laboratory and light industrial applications, the Flamefast Gas Sensors are in a stylish, contemporary housing ensuring they look at home in any modern building. With a Voltage Output, and Volt Free Contact the FGS can connect directly into most third party controllers or can easily connect to the New LCD based range of panels using the BACnet output.

With most modern buildings the plant room safety systems are BMS integrated, and the FGS has been designed with this in mind. It can be treated like any other field sensor, the latching facility allows direct integration with the primary safety circuit, then simply pulse the Digital Input to reset once the alarm has cleared. This negates the requirement for a controller, cutting down cost of the equipment and installation Each sensor has a bold traffic light indication, gas concentration readout and audible alarm, so a clear indication of any alarm conditions is given, opposed to trying to interpret the often- confusing central controllers.

The GasMonitor or BoilerGuard panels are able to connect to up to 16 of the addressable sensors and the installation requires a single cable link back to the panel. Due to the reduced wiring requirements, the 16 channel monitors have a footprint of just 180 x 180mm. With additional interfaces for thermal links, fire alarm, ventilation systems as well as a dedicated gas solenoid valve output, they can be used for a wide range of applications. The network interface allows for all critical information to be easily relayed from the sensors to the controller, including alarm set-points, status and calibration information. The four line, twenty character display offers clear guidance of any faults and where possible provides direction on how to rectify.

To avoid any clutter and confusion, during normal operation the display will group together multiple sensors of the same type with a single line for each gas type and only advise which reading is furthest from baseline. When there is a gas alarm the panel will display the channel number, alarm level and concentration.

With relay outputs for alarm 1, alarm 2 and fault, the ability to energise and latch alarms for critical applications, and the simple user interface, the new range is arguably the most cost-effective solution on the market.

C&F Quadrant is a distributor of Flamefast and the company has already supplied and commissioned a number of products from the new product range in projects across Northern Ireland.
