Grant drives manufacturing excellence within the industry

Mark Eccles provides an insight into the manufacturer’s recent achievements

Entering the new year on a high, leading manufacturer of heating technologies, Grant, is gearing up for a busy 2019 with new product launches and European shows on the horizon.

Telling us more about Grant’s recent achievement and other exciting developments for company in the months ahead, we caught up with Mark Eccles from Grant NI, to answer a few questions.

Q: Another Which? Best Buy for Grant is exciting news indeed – what products within your range received the accolade?
A: We recently received a Which? Best Buy 2018 for our low NOx and Blue Flame boilers included within our Vortex Pro Utility, Vortex Pro Combi and Vortex Blue External/Outdoor ranges. We are very proud to receive this accolade for a second consecutive year as it truly reinforces Grant’s reputation for manufacturing market-leading products. Furthermore, our Vortex Blue is first and only Blue Flame oil fired boiler to receive this accolade. With efficiency outputs of up to 97%, the Grant Vortex boilers are among some of the most efficient on the market and offer great variety and flexibility. The range comprises of internal, external, wall hung, boiler house and combi models – some of the models are compact in size and are perfect for situations where space is at a premium.

Q: Grant also marked four decades of manufacturing last year – how has Grant developed over the years?
A: Grant has certainly grown significantly which is all down to our ability to adapt to the needs of the industry. From the outset, innovation has been at the core of everything. Back in the 1970’s we developed a highly efficient back boiler which was 2-3 times more efficient than anything else on the market. We then were one of the first manufacturers to bring condensing oil boilers to the market here which can help households save up to 25% on annual fuel bills when upgrading, depending on the age and make of the previous heating system. In recent years we have also seen a strong focus on renewable home heating, with strong interest in our VortexAir Hybrid and Aerona3 air source heat pumps. No matter how the industry changes, we always strive to provide the best products.

Q: We’ve seen that product development with the addition of two new radiator ranges. Tell us more about them.
A: The Grant Solo fan convector radiators and Grant Afinia aluminium radiators are the latest additions to our product portfolio which reinforce Grant as a one stop shop for home heating needs. The Grant Solo range is an excellent choice for those wishing to provide their existing heating system with an additional boost and is useful for areas of a property that prove harder to heat. The range comprises of three different models including the wall-mounted Solo Compact, Solo CompactMAX and space saving plinth heater, the Solo Hideaway, all of which deliver faster rates of convection that conventional radiators. Meanwhile, the Grant Afinia units feature a slim profile and a white powder coated finish and are designed to work effectively with both low and high temperature systems, making them the perfect pairing for either our highly efficient Aerona3 air source heat pumps or Vortex condensing oil boilers. Mark Eccles, Grant NI.

Q: What is on the horizon for Grant in 2019?
A: This year is set to be very exciting for the Grant as we look towards further product developments set to hit the market. We will also have a number of exhibitions taking place next year, not just locally but internationally. We are set to return to the ISH exhibition in Frankfurt following a successful first appearance at the show in 2017. Here attendees will get a glimpse of what we have in store for the industry, including sophisticated heating controls and advanced renewable technologies. The Grant team is definitely looking forward to the year ahead!
