Grant leads the way in integrated heating solutions

Meeting the demand for more sustainable solutions...

With an ever-expanding product portfolio, which includes award-winning condensing oil boilers, innovative hybrid and heat pump technologies and the latest high- quality offering in heat emitters, Grant is the number one choice for homeowners and installers alike.

Since 1978, Grant has truly made its mark on the plumbing and heating industry with continuous investment in research and development, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and providing some of the best heating products available on the market. In addition to the popular Vortex condensing oil boiler range, Grant’s renewable offerings – including the high efficient Aerona3 air source heat pump range – have generated significant interest across Ireland as the demand for more sustainable solutions increases.

Ideally-suited for those completing a new build or retrofit project, models within the Aerona3 air source heat pump range not only help to reduce carbon emissions but can also meet Part L compliance outlined in building regulations in the Republic of Ireland. The range is available in outputs of 6kW, 10kW, 13kW and 17kW and operates using an air to water system which utilises heat captured from the air in ‘wet’ heating system radiators or underfloor heating.

The A+++ 13kW model is the most recent addition to the range and features the more environmentally- friendly R32 refrigerant gas which champions a lower global warming potential (GWP) than other typical heat pump refrigerants. This latest development from Grant comes well ahead of the upcoming legislative targets outlined in the 2014 EU Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas Regulations, further representing Grant’s commitment to leading best practice within the industry. The R32 refrigerant, which will be introduced to all models within the Aerona3 range in the coming months, can help the end user further reduce their carbon footprint whilst providing cleaner operation and excellent performance.

Commenting on the range, Barry Gorman, Grant Technical Team said, “The overriding feature of the Aerona3 air source heat pump range is the excellent efficiency outputs that each model can deliver, even when external temperatures drop as low as -20°C. In these situations, the heat pump’s output will modulate up or down depending on the exact climate conditions to ensure ultimate energy efficiency for the property.”

With a superior seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP), the models can provide over four times the amount of energy for every 1kW of electricity used. The heat pump output required will differ greatly depending on the property which is why the Grant team offers a free of charge heat loss calculation service to help ensure long-term high efficiencies and overall savings.

This can be availed of by emailing project plans to heatpump@grantengineering.ie.

Barry added, “Our heat loss calculation service has become very popular within the industry and highlights our team’s ability to provide full heating product specifications for a property. From selecting the main heat source or accompanying water cylinders, to identifying the best heat emitters for the project which may include the recently-launched Grant Solo convector or Grant Afinia aluminium radiators, or the integration of underfloor heating, our team is available to help make the process as simple as possible.”
