Origen Energy, part of the HEVAC group, has recently appointed John O’Brien as the company’s Heat-Pump Technical Support Specialist.
John has a long-standing career in the industry, previously working as Branch Manager and Business Development Manager for Heat Merchants and as Project Manager for Gaffney Mechanical. He will be providing nationwide coverage for Origen’s on-site heat pump commissioning as well as dealing with faults and looking after all new heat pump installs.
John is looking forward to being at the forefront of this rapidly expanding heating sector. He says, “There are advancements being made all the time in heat pump design and installation and it’s going to be a busy period going forward with the changes to NZEB legislation regarding new builds increasing the demand for more energy efficient heating systems such as heat pumps.”
John joins Paul Begadon, Origen’s CHP Field Service Engineer. Paul joined the Hevac Group in 2016 as a Technical Sales Engineer in Hevac’s Industrial Division. He spent the previous nine years as a mechanic in the Army and earned an Engineering degree studying part time. In January 2018, he joined Origen Energy as Field Service Engineer for Combined Heat and Power systems. His responsibilities include maintenance, servicing, commissioning, and technical support for contractors and design consultants. He covers all of Ireland and provides rapid emergency response for Origen’s service contracts.
