METEAC Training is renowned in the energy industry for delivering specialist training in gas, oil, electrical, solid fuel, welding and electrofusion as well as renewable energy such as domestic photovoltaic systems.
METAC’s latest additions are the Solar PV and Microgen courses. As METAC is the largest energy training and assessment provider in Ireland and the UK, it is fully furnished with the specialist equipment needed to deliver this course in line with the required standards of QQI and City & Guilds. On site, METAC has a PV array, working training roofs, a 6K wind turbine, and also a 200-watt unit for training. This is driven by a variable speed motor with an inverter which records revolutions and the power supply. METAC also has a 6KW CPH unit.
The heat pump course is designed to upgrade the skills and knowledge of existing persons in the renewable energy industry so that they can register with SEAI. METAC also provides the required level of knowledge to anyone entering the renewable energy industry. The course will offer an extensive insight into heat pump systems and will prepare candidates for the end of course assessment to comply with SEAI and Heat Pump Association requirements. With the support of the Heat Pump Association, METAC has installed three new air-to-water heat pumps to the existing ground-source and air- to-water units already in place.
METAC Training is now an approved centre to offer the QQI Domestic Gas Safety and the greatly anticipated QQI Non-Domestic Gas Safety. The Non-Domestic Gas Safety programme is broad ranging and includes pipework installation and testing, space heating and hot water systems, catering and laundry equipment and combined heat and power installations in non-domestic settings. METAC continues to provide training on the Domestic Gas Assessment (DGA) and OFTEC Oil both domestic and commercial.
Training approximately 2,700 people annually, the realistic training facilities at METAC equip people with practical skills for the modern workforce through courses that are nationally recognised by SOLAS, QQI, City & Guilds, BLUE ame Certi cation, Bord Gais and OFTEC, amongst others. All courses we run are independently certi ed and veri ed by external agencies.
