Stay licensed to bill – for gas work

Book your SERC DGA assessment early - places are limited and demand is high...

SERC’s DGA gas courses run over four days, from 9am- 5pm, with refreshments and lunch included.

SERC’s training centre which opened for training in August 2019, is fitted out to the highest standards and is centrally located off the M50’s junction 10. They deliver the DGA training and assessment course over four days rather than five (saving you time and money) as well as 1-day training courses in Flue Gas Analysis and Gas Boiler Servicing.

In line with COVID-19 social distancing requirements, the number of places available on SERC’s DGA training assessment course has been reduced from six to four people, so the advice from Dublin-based SERC Professional Skills Centre is very simple: ‘book early and don’t risk missing out on work during the winter rush!’

“Both our August courses are fully- booked over a month in advance, and we have a waiting list of people looking for a place,” says Alan Shanley, Business Development Manager, SERC.

“There has definitely been a spike in demand for training, which is the result of a number of factors: prior to social distancing requirements, we had a limit of six people on our DGA courses, but this has now been reduced to four for the foreseeable future. Also, each year there are, on average, 500 RGIs (approx.) needing their DGA. However, with training courses only resuming in August after four months of inactivity, there is now a huge demand on places, with less places available on courses. As a result, the only way to guarantee you get your DGA done when you need it, is to do your DGA during the quieter months rather than leave it to the busy winter months when you’ll be missing out on jobs,” says Alan.

“In terms of the SERC training experience in relation to the DGA, one thing that very much appeals to our customers is the fact that we do it over four days, rather than five; we deliver the same amount of content, with a strong emphasis on quality and interaction, and yet you’re not losing out on a whole day of jobs,” explains Alan.

“Our trainers are not only highly qualified in all areas of gas, they also have many years industry experience behind them so rest assured, when you choose us for your DGA, you will get a first-class experience and you will learn more than you ever thought you would”.

VALUE FOR MONEY
“Because we run the course over four days instead of five, it means one day less of lost earnings for you – which means more money in your pocket. Also, as an approved RGII assessment centre, our DGA is fully certified by Blueflame, ensuring you get a high-quality training and assessment experience that will keep you at the top of your profession and enable you to keep your licence to practice in gas.

“Don’t wait until December when you’re flat out busy with the winter rush. Phone or email me now to chat about your individual requirements and we’ll ensure you get booked onto a course that suits your schedule!”

* SERC’s DGA gas courses run over four days, from 9am- 5pm, with refreshments and lunch included. Cost is €795 (per person) and proof of eligibility (RGI number) is a requirement of attendance.
