Two new appointments at SONAS

Fiona Nicholl and Andrea Davis join a successful team headed up David White

SONAS Bathrooms has further invested in Northern Ireland with the recent appointment of two new Specification Sales Representatives.

Both appointments have been made to support the existing Area Sales Manager, David White, who, since joining the company in 2013, has grown the region with a substantial portfolio of customers within plumbers’ merchants and bathroom showrooms.

“David has been fantastic for our team – his focus and ambition have elevated SONAS Bathrooms as a key player in Northern Ireland,” explained Richard Sloan, Managing Director. According to David, “The key to the company’s success has been service, backed up by stock and a product range that caters for RMI, new house build and commercial applications.”

Commercial Specification Representative Fiona Nicholl, who will take responsibility for commercial projects, has a strong background selling bathrooms within the industry, having worked for some of the leading retail bathroom showrooms and merchants in Northern Ireland.

“I am thoroughly enjoying my new role with the full support of a professional team to back me, and I believe SONAS can offer the best support to everybody involved in each project,” said Fiona. “I have a can-do approach and look forward to working with new contacts in the industry along with those who already know and trust me.”

The new house build sector will be managed by Residential Specification Representative, Andrea Davis, who joins the business with a broad knowledge of the construction industry, especially in partnering with the merchant customer base in order to back sell on their behalf.

“I am delighted to be back in the construction industry and excited to develop relationships within the sector again. I pride myself with a great attention to detail and a real passion for design, SONAS provides a great opportunity for me to do what I really enjoy” said Andrea.

All products supplied to RMI, new house build schemes and commercial sectors are sold through the retail merchant customer network.

However, SONAS puts a lot of emphasis on creating demand via specification directly with contractors, developers and installers.

SONAS is the largest provider of bathroom products to the construction industry across the island of Ireland and this investment in additional resources is aimed at supporting the company’s customer base in targeting the new house build and commercial specification market.

“It’s very important that our customers see this step as a commitment to the region” said Richard. “Despite the uncertainty of Brexit and any headwinds this may bring, Northern Ireland is a significant piece of our business and these resources are another part of our value proposition.”

With a great focus on product compliance SONAS is now finding that its dedicated team is now liaising directly with specifiers and installers in order to ensure the submittal process is managed effectively. “Our approach is to support all the stakeholders in the process, and being a solution rather than just another company selling components to the retailer,” added Richard.

The company has also recently announced the signing of a long-term lease on 103 Northwest Business Park, Ballycoolin, Dublin 15. The deal, which is the largest logistics letting of 2018, comprises of 12,494sq.m (135,000sq.ft) high quality distribution.
