Wilo team peddle 1,700 miles in charity cycle

Wilo team's 1,700 mile virtual cycle for cancer charity...

Mark Mills, Wilo’s Northern Ireland Area Sales Manager, got on his bike to help his company team stack up 1,700 virtual miles in a charity cycle to raise funds for Maggie’s cancer support centres.

Wilo colleagues embarked on a challenge to virtually cycle from Wilo UK HQ in Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire to the new state-of-the-art Wilopark factory in Dortmund, Germany.

Because of the current travel restrictions put in place due to the pandemic, the Wilo team made up the total mileage ‘virtually’ on static exercise bikes set up at Wilo’s HQ and out and about individually on road bikes.

Maggie’s is a charity providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online. Lee Tebbatt, Managing Director of Wilo UK – a leading manufacturer of water pumps and pump systems – commented, “At Wilo, we’re not ones to shy away from a challenge so we thought an extremely ambitious cycle ride was a great way to raise those all-important funds, as well as getting the team together for a bit of fun as lockdown restrictions begin to ease.”

All funds raised will go direct to Maggie’s, donate here: www.justgiving.com/campaign/wilocycle2021
